LSU Sea Grant was determined to give Louisiana Seafood fishermen a voice and implemented a survey that gathered feedback on the benefits and drawbacks of the LA seafood industry. Taking this data into account, Compose created a well-structured, user-friendly report for not only the fishermen, but also for state and federal representatives to access and view the suggestions for improvement. Louisiana’s Seafood Future desired to emphasize the expansion of AOC or Alternative Oyster Culture, an inventive harvesting approach for oysters. This was identified as an important sytaregty by the people in the oyster industry during LSF’s workshop and previous survey. The grant program is response to the industry suggestion:offering direct development assistance. To facilitate the continued learning, Compose helped in crafting educational videos and web page, allowing both fishermen and interested parties to delve further into the details.
